Terms of Service

Plain-language summary: these terms cover how booking, approval, payment, and cancellation work, and set expectations for what E-RON WA can and can't do. They are not a substitute for legal advice.

Agreement to terms

By booking an appointment or using eronwa.com, you agree to these terms. E-RON WA (Express Online Notary) is operated by Brian Stewart, a commissioned notary public and electronic records notary public in the State of Washington.

The service

E-RON WA provides remote online notarization ("RON") for eligible documents, performed live through a secure notarization platform in accordance with Washington State notarial law. Not every document or situation is eligible for remote notarization; eligibility is confirmed before or at the start of your appointment. E-RON WA does not currently offer loan signing services, such as mortgage refinance or purchase closings.

Appointments and approval

Appointment requests submitted through the booking widget are requests, not confirmed bookings. Every request is reviewed and must be manually approved before it is confirmed. Approved appointments are followed by a confirmation email with next steps.

Identity verification

Washington law requires your identity to be verified before a remote notarization can be completed. You will need a valid, unexpired government-issued ID (state ID, driver's license, or passport) and will be asked to complete a brief identity verification at the start of your session. An appointment cannot proceed if your identity cannot be verified.

Fees and payment

Current pricing is listed on the Pricing section of this site. The final amount due is confirmed at the completion of your appointment based on the notarial acts performed and any optional services requested; any charge beyond the standard appointment amount is confirmed with you in advance. Invoicing and payment are handled through the notarization or booking platform. Attorneys, estate planning professionals, and other businesses with an ongoing partner relationship may have separately negotiated, volume-based rates in place of standard pricing, as agreed between E-RON WA and the partner.

Resigning a document

If a document needs to be resigned, booking that follow-up appointment is always free — you only pay the notarization platform's session cost, nothing extra. Request a resigning appointment through the form on the main site and it will be scheduled from there.

Cancellations and no-shows

Please email as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel an approved appointment. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may affect approval of future booking requests.

Your responsibilities

Provide accurate information when booking and during identity verification.
Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued ID to your appointment.
Confirm with your recipient, institution, or an attorney that remote online notarization is accepted for your specific document and purpose.
Join your appointment on time, in a private setting, with a stable internet connection.

No legal advice

E-RON WA is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Notarization confirms identity and witnesses a signature; it does not review a document for legal accuracy or advise on its content or consequences. If you need legal advice about a document, consult a licensed attorney before your appointment.

Records and recordings

As required by Washington State law, an audio-visual recording of your notarization session and a journal entry for the notarial act are created and retained for a minimum period after the appointment (currently at least ten years, per RCW 42.45.280). More detail on how this information is handled is in the Privacy Policy.

Limitation of liability

E-RON WA provides notarization services in good faith and in accordance with Washington State notarial law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, E-RON WA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or the completion of a notarization, including a document later being rejected by a third party for reasons unrelated to the notarial act itself.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
